² since you have given him authority over all people,^[a] to give eternal life to all whom you have given him.^(A)

²⁸ I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.^{(A) 29} My Father, in regard to what he has given me, is greater than all,^[a] and no one can snatch them out of the Father’s hand.^(B)

³⁹ And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me but raise it up on the last day.^(A)

³⁷ Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and anyone who comes to me I will never drive away,^(A)

²⁴ Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.^(A)

¹⁸ And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.^(A)

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true;^[a] and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.^(A)

⁹ I am asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world but on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours.^(A)

Now in subjecting all things to them, God^[a] left nothing outside their control. As it is, we do not yet see everything in subjection to them,^{(A) 9} but we do see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower^[b] than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God^[c] he might taste death for everyone.^(B)
