¹³ But now ^(A)I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have ^(B)my joy fulfilled in themselves.

² looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, ^(A)who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising ^(B)the shame, and ^(C)is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

²² But ^(A)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(B)love, joy, peace, patience, ^(C)kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹¹ These things I have spoken to you, ^(A)that my joy may be in you, and that ^(B)your joy may be full.

^29 (A)The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. ^(B)The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, ^(C)rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.

⁴ And we are writing these things so ^(A)that our^[a] joy may be complete.

³³ I have said these things to you, that ^(A)in me you may have peace. ^(B)In the world you will have ^(C)tribulation. But ^(D)take heart; ^(E)I have overcome the world.”

The High Priestly Prayer

17 When Jesus had spoken these words, ^(F)he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, ^(G)the hour has come; ^(H)glorify your Son that the Son may ^(I)glorify you,

^22 (A)So also you have sorrow now, but ^(B)I will see you again, and ^(C)your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. ^23 (D)In that day you will ^(E)ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(F)whatever you ask of the Father in my name, ^(G)he will give it to you. ²⁴ Until now you have asked nothing in my name. ^(H)Ask, and you will receive, ^(I)that your joy may be full.

¹⁰ Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and ^(A)send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
