John 13:21-30
English Standard Version
One of You Will Betray Me
21 After saying these things, (A)Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, (B)“Truly, truly, I say to you, (C)one of you will betray me.” 22 (D)The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. 23 (E)One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table (F)at Jesus' side,[a] 24 so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus[b] of whom he was speaking. 25 (G)So that disciple, (H)leaning back against Jesus, said to him, “Lord, who is it?” 26 Jesus answered, (I)“It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread (J)when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, (K)he gave it to Judas, (L)the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 Then after he had taken the morsel, (M)Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, (N)“What you are going to do, do quickly.” 28 Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him. 29 Some thought that, (O)because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need (P)for the feast,” or that he should (Q)give something to the poor. 30 So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out. (R)And it was night.

The Words of Eternal Life
60 (A)When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” 61 But Jesus, (B)knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? 62 Then what if you were to see (C)the Son of Man (D)ascending to (E)where he was before? 63 (F)It is the Spirit who gives life; (G)the flesh is no help at all. (H)The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 64 But (I)there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus (J)knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and (K)who it was who would betray him.) 65 And he said, “This is why I told you (L)that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

4 In return for my love they (A)accuse me,
but I (B)give myself to prayer.[a]
5 So they (C)reward me evil for good,
and hatred for my love.
6 (D)Appoint a wicked man (E)against him;
let an accuser stand (F)at his right hand.
7 When he is tried, let him come forth guilty;
let his (G)prayer be counted as sin!
8 May his (H)days be few;
may (I)another take his (J)office!
9 May his (K)children be fatherless
and his wife a widow!
10 May his children (L)wander about and beg,
(M)seeking food far from the ruins they inhabit!
11 May (N)the creditor seize all that he has;
may (O)strangers plunder the fruits of his toil!
12 Let there be none to (P)extend kindness to him,
nor any to (Q)pity his fatherless children!
13 May his (R)posterity be cut off;
may his (S)name be blotted out in the second generation!
