⁴ But ^(A)I have said these things to you, that when ^(B)their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you.

The Work of the Holy Spirit

“I did not say these things to you from the beginning, ^(C)because I was with you.

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, ^(A)“Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? ^(B)The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and ^(C)then they will fast.

^12 (A)While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have ^(B)guarded them, and ^(C)not one of them has been lost except ^(D)the son of destruction, ^(E)that the Scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ But now ^(F)I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have ^(G)my joy fulfilled in themselves.

²⁹ And ^(A)now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe.

^19 (A)I am telling you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he.

²³ But ^(A)be on guard; ^(B)I have told you all things beforehand.

^14 (A)since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, ^(B)as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

¹⁶ For ^(A)I will show him how much ^(B)he must suffer ^(C)for the sake of my name.”

¹⁹ And Jesus said to them, ^(A)“Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
