31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming(A) and in fact has come when you will be scattered,(B) each to your own home. You will leave me all alone.(C) Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.(D)

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.(E) In this world you will have trouble.(F) But take heart! I have overcome(G) the world.”

Jesus Prays to Be Glorified

17 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven(H) and prayed:

“Father, the hour has come.(I) Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.(J) For you granted him authority over all people(K) that he might give eternal life(L) to all those you have given him.(M) Now this is eternal life: that they know you,(N) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.(O) I have brought you glory(P) on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.(Q) And now, Father, glorify me(R) in your presence with the glory I had with you(S) before the world began.(T)
