Sorrow Will Turn to Joy

¹⁶ “A ^(A)little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, ^(B)because I go to the Father.”

³³ Then Jesus said ^[a]to them, ^(A)“I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I ^(B)go to Him who sent Me.

⁴⁰ Him ^(A)God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, ^41 (B)not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us ^(C)who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

^3 (A)to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many ^[a]infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

^28 (A)I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

²² Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and ^(A)your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.

² looking unto Jesus, the ^[a]author and ^[b]finisher of our faith, ^(A)who for the joy that was set before Him ^(B)endured the cross, despising the shame, and ^(C)has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

^18 (A)I will not leave you orphans; ^(B)I will come to you.

Indwelling of the Father and the Son

¹⁹ “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but ^(C)you will see Me. ^(D)Because I live, you will live also. ²⁰ At that day you will know that ^(E)I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. ^21 (F)He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and ^[a]manifest Myself to him.”

^22 (G)Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, ^(H)and We will come to him and make Our home with him. ²⁴ He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and ^(I)the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

³ Jesus, knowing ^(A)that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He ^(B)had come from God and ^(C)was going to God,
