26 “When the [a](A)Advocate comes, (B)whom I will send to you from the Father, (C)the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, (D)He will bear witness about Me, 27 [b]and (E)you will bear witness also, because you have been with Me (F)from the beginning.

Jesus’ Warning

16 “(G)These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from (H)stumbling. 2 They will (I)put you out of the synagogue, but (J)an hour is coming for everyone (K)who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. 3 These things they will do (L)because they did not know the Father or Me. 4 But these things I have spoken to you, (M)so that when their hour comes, you [c]may remember that I told you of them. These things I did not say to you (N)at the beginning, because I was with you.

26 “When the Counselor(A) comes, the one I will send to you from the Father(B) —the Spirit of truth(C) who proceeds from the Father—he will testify about me. 27 You also will testify,(D) because you have been with me from the beginning.

16 “I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling. 2 They will ban you from the synagogues.(E) In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service(F) to God. 3 They will do these things because they haven’t known(G) the Father or me. 4 But I have told you these things so that when their time[a] comes you will remember(H) I told them to you. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.
