²⁰ Remember the word I spoke to you: ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’^(A) If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word,^(B) they will also keep yours.

²⁵ For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me will find it.^(A)

¹⁵ He was permitted to give a spirit^[a] to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast could both speak and cause whoever would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

⁴⁸ But if that wicked slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delayed,’ ⁴⁹ and starts to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards,^{(A) 50} that slave’s master will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know. ⁵¹ He will cut him to pieces^[a] and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

⁴⁵ But if that slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’^(A) and starts to beat the male and female slaves, and to eat and drink and get drunk,

⁷ “While I was watching in the night visions, a fourth beast^(A) appeared, frightening and dreadful, and incredibly strong, with large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and it trampled with its feet whatever was left. It was different from all the beasts before it, and it had 10 horns.^(B)

¹⁹ “Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast,^(A) the one different from all the others, extremely terrifying, with iron teeth and bronze claws, devouring, crushing, and trampling with its feet whatever was left.
