⁹ Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?^(A)

The Supremacy of Christ

¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation,^(A)

⁴⁵ And whoever sees me sees him who sent me.^(A)

⁷ If you know me, you will know^[a] my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

³ He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being, and he sustains^[a] all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for^[b] sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,^(A)

³⁰ The Father and I are one.”

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son,^[a] full of grace and truth.^(A)

²⁰ On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.^(A)

¹⁹ He answered them, “You faithless generation, how much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I put up with you? Bring him to me.”
