⁶ Jesus answered, “I am^(A) the way^(B) and the truth^(C) and the life.^(D) No one comes to the Father except through me.^(E)

Psalm 15

A psalm of David.

²⁰ But you have an anointing^(A) from the Holy One,^(B) and all of you know the truth.^{[a](C) 21} I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it^(D) and because no lie comes from the truth. ²² Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.^(E)

⁸ If we claim to be without sin,^(A) we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.^(B)

⁴ Whoever says, “I know him,”^(A) but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.^(B)

²¹ I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it^(A) and because no lie comes from the truth.

¹⁸ Dear children,^(A) let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.^(B)

3 See what great love^(A) the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!^(B) And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.^(C)
