¹² Very truly I tell you, whoever believes^(A) in me will do the works I have been doing,^(B) and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. ¹³ And I will do whatever you ask^(C) in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴ You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

¹⁵ “If you love me, keep my commands.^{(D) 16} And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate^(E) to help you and be with you forever— ¹⁷ the Spirit of truth.^(F) The world cannot accept him,^(G) because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be^[a] in you.

⁷ But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate^(A) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.^{(B) 8} When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: ⁹ about sin,^(C) because people do not believe in me; ¹⁰ about righteousness,^(D) because I am going to the Father,^(E) where you can see me no longer; ¹¹ and about judgment, because the prince of this world^(F) now stands condemned.
