The New Commandment

³¹ When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.^(A)

¹¹ Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.^(A)

¹³ I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

³⁹ Now he said this about the Spirit, which believers in him were to receive, for as yet there was no Spirit^[a] because Jesus was not yet glorified.^(A)

²³ Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.^(A)

⁹ They sing a new song:

¹¹ Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders; they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,^{(C) 12} singing with full voice,

¹³ Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea and all that is in them, singing,

¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the elders fell down and worshiped.

²¹ Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your trust and hope are in God.

⁵ So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest but was appointed by^[a] the one who said to him,

⁶ as he says also in another place,

⁷ In the days of his flesh, Jesus^[b] offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.^{(C) 8} Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered,^{(D) 9} and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,^(E)
