²⁹ Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”

² And I heard a voice from heaven, ^(A)like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of ^(B)harpists playing their harps.

The Fall of Babylon the Great

18 After^(A) these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, ^(B)and the earth was illuminated with his glory. ² And he cried ^[a]mightily with a loud voice, saying, ^(C)“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and ^(D)has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and ^(E)a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

¹⁹ Then ^(A)the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of ^[a]His covenant was seen in His temple. And ^(B)there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, ^(C)and great hail.

⁵ Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And ^(A)there were noises, thunderings, ^(B)lightnings, ^(C)and an earthquake.

First Seal: The Conqueror

6 Now ^(A)I saw when the Lamb opened one of the ^[a]seals; and I heard ^(B)one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.”

^8 (A)For Sadducees say that there is no resurrection—and no angel or spirit; but the Pharisees confess both. ⁹ Then there arose a loud outcry. And the scribes of the Pharisees’ party arose and protested, saying, ^(B)“We find no evil in this man; ^[a]but ^(C)if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, ^(D)let us not fight against God.”

⁵ And the ^(A)sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court, like ^(B)the voice of Almighty God when He speaks.
