The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up
27 (A)“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, (B)save me from (C)this hour’? But (D)for this purpose I have come to (E)this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then (F)a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, (G)“An angel has spoken to him.” 30 Jesus answered, (H)“This voice has come for your sake, not mine. 31 (I)Now is the judgment of this world; now will (J)the ruler of this world (K)be cast out. 32 And I, (L)when I am lifted up from the earth, (M)will draw (N)all people to myself.” 33 He said this (O)to show by what kind of death he was going to die. 34 So the crowd answered him, “We have heard from the Law that (P)the Christ remains forever. How can you say that (Q)the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?” 35 So Jesus said to them, (R)“The light is among you (S)for a little while longer. (T)Walk while you have the light, lest darkness (U)overtake you. (V)The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.

Remain here and (F)watch.”[a] 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground (G)and prayed that, if it were possible, (H)the hour might pass from him. 36 And he said, (I)“Abba, Father, (J)all things are possible for you. Remove (K)this cup from me. (L)Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

The Transfiguration
2 (A)And after six days Jesus took with him (B)Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was (C)transfigured before them, 3 and (D)his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one[a] on earth could bleach them. 4 And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. 5 And Peter said to Jesus, (E)“Rabbi,[b] it is good that we are here. Let us make three (F)tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 6 For (G)he did not know what to say, for they were terrified. 7 And (H)a cloud overshadowed them, and (I)a voice came out of the cloud, (J)“This is my beloved Son;[c] (K)listen to him.” 8 And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.
