Jesus Foretells His Death

²⁷ “^(A)Now My soul has become troubled; and what am I to say? ‘^(B)Father, save Me from ^(C)this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.

¹⁹ And Jesus said to them, “While the groom is with them, ^[a]the attendants of the groom cannot fast, can they? As long as they have the groom with them, they cannot fast. ²⁰ But the ^(A)days will come when the groom is taken away from them, and then they will fast, on that day.

⁵⁰ But I have a ^(A)baptism ^[a]to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

³² And He said to them, “Go and tell that ^[a]fox, ‘Behold, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I ^[b](A)reach My goal.’ ³³ Nevertheless ^(B)I must go on My journey today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a ^(C)prophet would perish outside Jerusalem.

^25 (A)But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
