The Triumphal Entry

¹² On the next day, when ^(A)the large crowd that had come to ^(B)the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ they took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began shouting, “^(C)Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, indeed, the ^(D)King of Israel!” ¹⁴ Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:

^16 (A)These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus ^(B)was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things for Him.

²⁰ Many of them were saying, “He ^(A)has a demon and ^(B)is insane. Why do you listen to Him?” ²¹ Others were saying, “These are not the words of one who is ^(C)demon-possessed. ^(D)A demon cannot open the eyes of those who are blind, can it?”

Jesus Asserts His Deity

²² At that time the ^[a]Feast of the Dedication took place in Jerusalem; ²³ it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple area, in the portico of ^(E)Solomon. ^24 (F)The Jews then surrounded Him and began saying to Him, “How long ^[b]will You keep us in suspense? If You are the ^[c]Christ, tell us ^(G)plainly.” ²⁵ Jesus answered them, “^(H)I told you, and you do not believe; ^(I)the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me. ²⁶ But you do not believe, because ^(J)you are not of My sheep. ²⁷ My sheep ^(K)listen to My voice, and ^(L)I know them, and they follow Me; ²⁸ and I give them ^(M)eternal life, and they will never perish; and ^(N)no one will snatch them out of My hand. ^29 [d]My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. ^30 (O)I and the Father are ^[e]one.”

³¹ The Jews ^(P)picked up stones again to stone Him.
