⁴ When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

⁴⁰ Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would ^(A)see the glory of God?”

¹⁴ If you are ^[a]reproached for the name of Christ, ^(A)blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. ^[b]On their part He is blasphemed, ^(B)but on your part He is glorified.

³ Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, ^(A)but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

²³ that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. ^(A)He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

⁵ And now, O Father, glorify Me together ^[a]with Yourself, with the glory ^(A)which I had with You before the world was.

The New Commandment

³¹ So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, ^(A)“Now the Son of Man is glorified, and ^(B)God is glorified in Him. ³² If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and ^(C)glorify Him immediately.

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, ^(A)“If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. ^(B)It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is ^[a]your God.

¹¹ This ^(A)beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, ^(B)and ^[a]manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

³⁹ When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but ^(A)sleeping.”
