³³ When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he ^(A)was deeply moved^[a] in his spirit and ^(B)greatly troubled.

³⁸ Then Jesus, ^(A)deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was ^(B)a cave, and ^(C)a stone lay against it.

The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up

^27 (A)“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, ^(B)save me from ^(C)this hour’? But ^(D)for this purpose I have come to ^(E)this hour.

⁵ And he ^(A)looked around at them with anger, grieved at ^(B)their hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” ^(C)He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

^15 (A)Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

³⁰ Then Joseph hurried out, for ^(A)his compassion grew warm for his brother, and he sought a place to weep. And he entered his chamber and ^(B)wept there. ³¹ Then he washed his face and came out. And ^(C)controlling himself he said, “Serve the food.”

⁷ In the days of his flesh, ^(A)Jesus^[a] offered up prayers and supplications, ^(B)with loud cries and tears, to him ^(C)who was able to save him from death, and ^(D)he was heard because of his reverence. ⁸ Although ^(E)he was a son, ^(F)he learned obedience through what he suffered.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest ^(A)who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been ^(B)tempted as we are, ^(C)yet without sin.

³³ And he took with him ^(A)Peter and James and John, and began ^(B)to be greatly distressed and troubled. ³⁴ And he said to them, ^(C)“My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and ^(D)watch.”^{[a] 35} And going a little farther, he fell on the ground ^(E)and prayed that, if it were possible, ^(F)the hour might pass from him.
