Jesus and Death, the Last Enemy

²⁸ And when she had said these things, she went her way and secretly called Mary her sister, saying, “The Teacher has come and is calling for you.”

^13 (A)You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.

²⁰ Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house.

⁴⁹ So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.

Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

^17 (A)Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them ^(B)in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus ^(C)we shall always be with the Lord. ^18 (D)Therefore comfort one another with these words.

⁷ Therefore ^(A)that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.

¹⁶ Jesus said to her, ^(A)“Mary!”

She turned and said to ^[a]Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).

³ To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by ^(A)name and leads them out.

⁴⁵ Philip found ^(A)Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom ^(B)Moses in the law, and also the ^(C)prophets, wrote—Jesus ^(D)of Nazareth, the ^(E)son of Joseph.”

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the ^[a]Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ).
