³⁹ Once again they tried to arrest him, but he got away and left them.

³⁰ Then the leaders tried to arrest him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his time^[a] had not yet come.

⁵⁹ At that point they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden from them and left the Temple.

⁴⁴ Some even wanted him arrested, but no one laid a hand on him.

²⁹ Jumping up, they mobbed him and forced him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push him over the cliff, ³⁰ but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.

³¹ Once again the people picked up stones to kill him.
