Renewed Efforts to Stone Jesus

³¹ Then ^(A)the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. ³² Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

³³ The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for ^(B)blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, ^(C)make Yourself God.”

²² And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, ^(A)“He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ^(B)ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”

³⁰ because they ^(A)said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

⁵ And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the ^(A)hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored ^[a]as whole as the other. ^6 (B)Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with ^(C)the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.

^2 (A)Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. ^(B)When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

³ And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”

^65 (A)Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His ^(B)blasphemy!
