²⁹ My Father,^(A) who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

¹² and that is why I suffer^(A) these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me^[a](B) until that day.^(C)

²⁵ Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede^(A) for them.

¹⁰ By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.^(A)

A Living Hope

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.^(A) Because of his great mercy^(B) he has given us new birth^(C) into a living hope^(D) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead^{(E) 4} and into an inheritance that is imperishable,^(F) undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven^(G) for you. ⁵ You are being guarded by God’s power^(H) through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.^(I)
