¹⁹ The Jews who heard these words were again divided.^{(A) 20} Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed^(B) and raving mad.^(C) Why listen to him?”

²¹ When his family^[a] heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”^(A)

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul,^(A) the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”^(B)

²⁵ Jesus knew their thoughts^(C) and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
