¹⁵ as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father.^(A) I lay down My life^(B) for the sheep.

⁵¹ He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus was going to die^(A) for the nation, ⁵² and not for the nation only, but also to unite the scattered children^(B) of God.

¹³ No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life^(A) for his friends.

¹⁴ Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it was advantageous that one man should die for the people.^(A)
