John 1:9-13

⁹ The true light^(A) that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.^[a](B)

¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was created^(C) through him, and yet the world did not recognize him. ¹¹ He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. ¹² But to all who did receive^(D) him,^(E) he gave them the right^(F) to be^[b] children^(G) of God,^(H) to those who believe^(I) in his name,^{(J) 13} who were born,^(K) not of natural descent,^[c] or of the will^(L) of the flesh,^(M) or of the will of man,^[d] but of God.^(N)
