⁴¹ He first found his brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated Anointed^[a]).^(A)

²⁵ The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When he comes, he will proclaim all things to us.”^(A)

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.”^(A)

²⁸ Then the woman left her water jar and went back to the city. She said to the people, ²⁹ “Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done! He cannot be the Messiah,^[a] can he?”^(A)

³⁸ At that moment she came and began to praise God and to speak about the child^[a] to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.^(A)

²⁵ Know therefore and understand: from the time that the word went out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the time of an anointed prince, there shall be seven weeks, and for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with streets and moat, but in a troubled time.^{(A) 26} After the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing, and the troops of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its^[a] end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.^(B)

³² And we bring you the good news that what God promised to our ancestors^{(A) 33} he has fulfilled for us, their children,^[a] by raising Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm,
