⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome^[a] it.

¹² Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.Isaiah 60:1 He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

⁵ While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

⁴⁶ I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.
