^4 (A)In Him was life, and ^(B)the life was the light of men. ⁵ And ^(C)the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not ^[a]comprehend it.

¹² Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ^(A)“I am the light of the world. He who ^(B)follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Believers Are Salt and Light^(A)

¹³ “You are the salt of the earth; ^(B)but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

^14 (C)“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. ¹⁵ Nor do they ^(D)light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, ^(E)that they may see your good works and ^(F)glorify your Father in heaven.

Walk in Light

⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are ^(A)light in the Lord. Walk as children of light ⁹ (for ^(B)the fruit of the ^[a]Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), ^10 (C)finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
