³⁷ The two disciples heard him speak, and they ^(A)followed Jesus.

¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Philip and Nathanael

⁴³ The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found ^(A)Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.”

¹⁷ And the Spirit and ^(A)the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” ^(B)And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

The Savior of the World

³⁹ And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him ^(A)because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” ⁴⁰ So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. ⁴¹ And many more believed because of His own ^(B)word.

⁴² Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for ^(C)we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed ^[a]the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

^29 (A)Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but ^(B)what is good for necessary ^[a]edification, ^(C)that it may impart grace to the hearers.
