³³ I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, ^(A)this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

^5 (A)for John truly baptized with water, ^(B)but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

^5 (A)not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through ^(B)the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ^6 (C)whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

¹⁶ John answered, saying to all, ^(A)“I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will ^(B)baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

^11 (A)I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. ^(B)He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit ^[a]and fire.

² he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

So they said to him, ^(A)“We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”

³ And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”

So they said, ^(B)“Into John’s baptism.”

⁴ Then Paul said, ^(C)“John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”

⁵ When they heard this, they were baptized ^(D)in the name of the Lord Jesus. ⁶ And when Paul had ^(E)laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and ^(F)they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

^34 (A)For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit ^(B)by measure.

¹³ For ^(A)by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—^(B)whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and ^(C)have all been made to drink ^[a]into one Spirit.

¹⁵ And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, ^(A)as upon us at the beginning. ¹⁶ Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ^(B)‘John indeed baptized with water, but ^(C)you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
