32 John gave further evidence, saying, I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and it dwelt on Him [never to depart].
33 And I did not know Him nor recognize Him, but He Who sent me to baptize [a]in (with) water said to me, Upon Him Whom you shall see the Spirit descend and remain, that One is He Who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.
34 And I have seen [that happen—I actually did see it] and my testimony is that this is the Son of God!

32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.(A) 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water(B) told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’(C) 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”[a](D)
