^11 (A)He came to His ^[a]own, and His ^[b]own did not receive Him.

^14 (A)But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’

³² And ^(A)what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.

Israel Resists the Holy Spirit

⁵¹ “You ^(A)stiff-necked^[a] and ^(B)uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. ^52 (C)Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of ^(D)the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,

¹³ “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.’ ¹⁴ But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the ^(A)heir. Come, ^(B)let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ^(C)ours.’ ¹⁵ So they cast him out of the vineyard and ^(D)killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

²⁴ But He answered and said, ^(A)“I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

^25 (A)You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ^(B)‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ ²⁶ To you ^(C)first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, ^(D)in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

⁸ Now I say that ^(A)Jesus Christ has become a ^[a]servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, ^(B)to confirm the promises made to the fathers,
