¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and ^(A)the world did not know Him. ^11 (B)He came to His ^[a]own, and His ^[b]own did not receive Him. ¹² But ^(C)as many as received Him, to them He gave the ^[c]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: ^13 (D)who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

^5 (A)When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was ^(B)compelled ^[a]by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. ⁶ But ^(C)when they opposed him and blasphemed, ^(D)he shook his garments and said to them, ^(E)“Your blood be upon your own heads; ^(F)I am clean. ^(G)From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” ⁷ And he departed from there and entered the house of a certain man named ^[b]Justus, one who worshiped God, whose house was next door to the synagogue. ^8 (H)Then Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his household. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.
