1 ^(A)In the beginning was ^(B)the Word, and the Word was ^(C)with God, and ^(D)the Word was God.

The Word Made Flesh

¹⁴ And ^(A)the Word ^(B)became flesh, and ^[a](C)dwelt among us, and ^(D)we saw His glory, glory as of ^[b]the only begotten from the Father, full of ^(E)grace and ^(F)truth.

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham ^[a]was born, ^(A)I am.” ⁵⁹ Therefore they ^(B)picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus ^[b](C)hid Himself and went out of the temple.

^30 (A)I and the Father are ^[a]one.”

³¹ The Jews ^(B)picked up stones again to stone Him. ³² Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?” ³³ The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for ^(C)blasphemy; and because You, being a man, ^(D)make Yourself out to be God.”

²⁸ Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

⁶ who, although He ^(A)existed in the ^(B)form of God, ^(C)did not regard equality with God a thing to be ^[a]grasped,
