⁴ As long as it is day,^(A) we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

³⁵ Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light^(A) just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light,^(B) before darkness overtakes you.^(C) Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.

¹⁶ making the most of every opportunity,^(A) because the days are evil.^(B)

³⁴ “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will^(A) of him who sent me and to finish his work.^(B)

⁹ Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light.^{(A) 10} It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.”
