John 9:35-41

New International Version

³⁵Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe^(A) in the Son of Man?”^(B)

³⁶“Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.”^(C)

³⁷Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”^(D)

³⁸Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.^(E)

³⁹Jesus said,^[a] “For judgment^(F) I have come into this world,^(G) so that the blind will see^(H) and those who see will become blind.”^(I)

⁴⁰Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?”^(J)

⁴¹Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.^(K)

³⁶He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”

³⁷And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and ^(D)it is He who is talking with you.”

³⁸Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he ^(E)worshiped Him.

³⁹And Jesus said, ^(F)“For judgment I have come into this world, ^(G)that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”

⁴⁰Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, ^(H)and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”

⁴¹Jesus said to them, ^(I)“If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
