43 For what reason are you not understanding My speaking? It is because you are not able to hear My word. 44 You are of your father the devil. And you are wanting[a] to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer from the beginning, and was not standing[b] in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks the lie[c], he speaks from his own things, because he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I am speaking the truth, you are not believing Me.

43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil,(A) and you want to carry out your father’s desires.(B) He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.(C) 45 Yet because I tell the truth,(D) you do not believe me!
