38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.
40 Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, “This is truly the prophet.”

38 Whoever believes(A) in me, as Scripture has said,(B) rivers of living water(C) will flow from within them.”[a](D) 39 By this he meant the Spirit,(E) whom those who believed in him were later to receive.(F) Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.(G)
40 On hearing his words, some of the people said, “Surely this man is the Prophet.”(H)
