38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, [a]from within him shall flow rivers of living water. 39 But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: [b]for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.

38 Whoever believes(A) in me, as Scripture has said,(B) rivers of living water(C) will flow from within them.”[a](D) 39 By this he meant the Spirit,(E) whom those who believed in him were later to receive.(F) Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.(G)
