30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

30 So they asked him, “What sign(A) then will you give that we may see it and believe you?(B) What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna(C) in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[a](D)

32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven(E) and gives life to the world.”

34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”(F)

35 Then Jesus declared, “I am(G) the bread of life.(H) Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes(I) in me will never be thirsty.(J) 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me(K) will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
