36 But (A)I have a greater witness than John’s; for (B)the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very (C)works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me. 37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, (D)has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, (E)nor seen His form. 38 But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 (F)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and (G)these are they which testify of Me. 40 (H)But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(A) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(B)—testify that the Father has sent me.(C) 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me.(D) You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,(E) 38 nor does his word dwell in you,(F) for you do not believe(G) the one he sent.(H) 39 You study[a] the Scriptures(I) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.(J) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,(K) 40 yet you refuse to come to me(L) to have life.
