John 3:29-31
Complete Jewish Bible
29 The bridegroom is the one who has the bride; but the bridegroom’s friend, who stands and listens to him, is overjoyed at the sound of the bridegroom’s voice. So this joy of mine is now complete. 30 He must become more important, while I become less important.
31 “He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth is from the earth and talks from an earthly point of view; he who comes from heaven is above all.

New International Version
29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom.(A) The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.(B) 30 He must become greater; I must become less.”[a]
31 The one who comes from above(C) is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth.(D) The one who comes from heaven is above all.
