^14 (A)And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so ^(B)must the Son of Man be lifted up,

^7 (A)Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have ^(B)sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; ^(C)pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

⁸ Then the Lord said to Moses, ^(D)“Make a ^(E)fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” ⁹ So ^(F)Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

²⁸ Then Jesus said to them, “When you ^(A)lift^[a] up the Son of Man, ^(B)then you will know that I am He, and ^(C)that I do nothing of Myself; but ^(D)as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

³² And I, ^(A)if I am ^[a]lifted up from the earth, will draw ^(B)all peoples to Myself.” ^33 (C)This He said, signifying by what death He would die.

³⁴ The people answered Him, ^(D)“We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

^26 (A)Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His ^(B)glory?” ²⁷ And beginning at ^(C)Moses and ^(D)all the Prophets, He ^[a]expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
