Why This Gospel Was Written

^30 (A)So then, many other ^[a](B)signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; ³¹ but these have been written ^(C)so that you may believe that Jesus is the ^[b]Christ, ^(D)the Son of God; and that by ^(E)believing you may have life in His name.

²⁵ But there are also ^(A)many other things which Jesus did, which, if they were written in detail, I expect that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.

Jesus’ Equality with God

¹⁸ For this reason therefore ^(A)the Jews ^(B)were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, ^(C)making Himself equal with God.
