13 (E)The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus (F)went up to Jerusalem. 14 (G)And within the temple grounds He found those who were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 And He made a whip of [a]cords, and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; 16 and to those who were selling (H)the doves He said, “Take these things away from here; stop making (I)My Father’s house a [b]place of business!” 17 His (J)disciples remembered that it was written: “(K)Zeal for Your house will consume me.”

13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover,(E) Jesus went up to Jerusalem.(F) 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves,(G) and others sitting at tables exchanging money.(H) 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house(I) into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”[a](J)
