John 19:32-37
New Living Translation
32 So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men crucified with Jesus. 33 But when they came to Jesus, they saw that he was already dead, so they didn’t break his legs. 34 One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out. 35 (This report is from an eyewitness giving an accurate account. He speaks the truth so that you also may continue to believe.[a]) 36 These things happened in fulfillment of the Scriptures that say, “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[b] 37 and “They will look on the one they pierced.”[c]

New International Version
32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other.(A) 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced(B) Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.(C) 35 The man who saw it(D) has given testimony, and his testimony is true.(E) He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled:(F) “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[a](G) 37 and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced.”[b](H)
