9 to fulfill the word which He spoke, “(A)Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one.” 10 Simon Peter then, (B)having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave’s name was Malchus. 11 So Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath; (C)the cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?”

9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”[a](A)
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup(B) the Father has given me?”
