9 This was to fulfill(A) the words He had said: “I have not lost one of those You have given Me.”(B)
10 Then Simon(C) Peter,(D) who had a sword,(E) drew it, struck the high priest’s(F) slave, and cut off his right ear. (The slave’s name was Malchus.)
11 At that, Jesus said to Peter, “Sheathe your sword! Am I not to drink the cup(G) the Father has given Me?”

9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”[a](A)
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup(B) the Father has given me?”
