9 in order that the word which He spoke[a] might be fulfilled, that “The ones whom You have given Me— I did not lose any of them”. 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and hit the slave of the high priest, and cut-off his right ear. And the name for the slave was Malchus. 11 Then Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath. The cup which the Father has given Me— shall not I drink it?”

9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”[a](A)
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup(B) the Father has given me?”
