21 (A)When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 (B)So also you have sorrow now, but (C)I will see you again, and (D)your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. 23 (E)In that day you will (F)ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, (G)whatever you ask of the Father in my name, (H)he will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. (I)Ask, and you will receive, (J)that your joy may be full.

25 “I have said these things to you in figures of speech. (K)The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf;

Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.(F) 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive,(G) and your joy will be complete.(H)

25 “Though I have been speaking figuratively,(I) a time is coming(J) when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name.(K) I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.
